Sick Of Water? Try These Healthy Drink Alternatives

Weight loss

Look, water is really the only drink we should be having throughout the day, but sometimes you just need a bit of flavour, right? We get that.

The problem is, when you go for flavour, sugar often comes with it. And a lot of these 'healthy drinks', aren't all that healthy.

Don't get caught out drinking your calories. Here are our tips for the best healthy alternatives to water.

Sparkling water with fruit

If you enjoy a soft drink, this is the next best thing. It's got the same fizzy taste, and adding fruit gives it a natural sugar boost!

Give it a go and experiment with the fruits you enjoy. Lemon, lime, and oranges are all great additives!

Kombucha

Kombucha is a fermented tea that is full of probiotics and live cultures. It's getting pretty popular at the moment and for good reason — it's pretty damn tasty! It's also great for your stomach and gut health, full of antioxidants and packed with disease fighters.

Kombucha has a carbonated, mildly sour fruit-like taste, and it's naturally low in sugar. Find a flavour you'd like and give it a go!

Aloe Vera Juice

Not only is this plant great for sunburns, but it can also be turned into a healthy drink!

Aloe vera juice is extremely low in sugar and calories yet sweet in taste, making it a great option when you tire of water. It also has a huge range of health benefits, high in nutrients and great for digestion and skin health.

You can get it as an additive to water or as a pre-mixed drink.

Coffee

Do you rely on soft drink or energy drinks to keep yourself going during the day? Have a coffee!

Coffee itself actually contains no calories at all, it's just the little extras you put in that can quickly add up. The plainer the better for your coffee.

Sugar-Free Soft Drink

Look, if you're going to have a soft drink, at least make it a sugar-free one. More and more brands are bringing out soft drinks with natural sweeteners in them, so there are actually some good options popping up in this space.

Always opt for naturally sweetened options if you can, and save them for when you really need the flavour hit.

Man Fuel

If your vice was a sugar-filled milkshake or iced-coffee before your new healthier lifestyle, we've got you covered.

The Man Fuel is a healthy iced-coffee or chocolate flavoured drink, packed full of protein and low in sugar. They're great for on the go, and the coffee flavour even has a shot of espresso in it! Find it here.

Low-Sugar Cordial

Nothing sparks an Aussie childhood summer memory like an ice cold glass of cordial. If you're looking to add some flavour to your water, why not grab a bottle of the low/no sugar cordial from the supermarket to mix in?

Tip: Dilute it down more than recommended so it's not as sweet.
