How I Got Here

I was always a larger kid when growing up, but when I stopped playing football I was working a lot and stopped being as active. Turning 18 and getting on the piss every night definitely didn't help either. I kept trying to lose the weight and get fit again, but I lacked the drive and commitment to go ahead with it.

I got to 145kg and knew it was important for me to lose weight and be healthy for my future. I didn't want to be an old bloke with depleted health or bad knees.

In late 2018 I was having a chat with my tattooist while getting a tattoo, and he was telling me about his own dieting and weight loss journey. He had lost over 20kg, and hearing it from an everyday normal guy like him made it feel like it was possible for me to do the same.


Getting Started

I first heard of The Man Shake on The Footy show and, seeing Adam and some of my childhood heroes supporting it, decided to give it a crack.

Before The Man Shake, nothing that I did resulted in any weight loss. When I started on the Shakes, I found it fitted into my lifestyle perfectly. It's a quick and easy shake for breaky before starting work early in the morning, and having it for lunch is simple. I started walking in the morning and some afternoons, and have now joined a gym to take the next step on my weight loss journey.

The biggest difference for me has been how much better and healthier I feel. I'm more confident in myself, and I can buy clothes that actually look good. The amount of support I've received from friends, family, and workmates has been amazing, I would have never expected it to be so great. The extra energy and will I have to go and do things means I'm challenging myself more.

Since I've started on the Shakes, 6 of my mates have jumped on board as well.


If someone is out there thinking about starting, what would you say to motivate them?

I'd say go for it. Look at my result, it speaks for itself. If a guy like me can do it, anyone can.

Taking the first step and starting is the hardest part, but believing in yourself and the fact that you'll succeed is the key. You just have to prove to yourself that you can do it and that's why The Man Shake is perfect, it sets a platform for a healthy life and a healthy mind.
