Motivation | The Difference Between 'Should' And 'Must'

Everyone in this world has a list of things they think they should do. It often starts like this:

  • I should lose some weight
  • I should start working out again
  • I should spend more time with my kids
  • I should start doing ___ again.

But most people never cross anything off their 'should list', and they get mad at themselves for it.

What changes is when your 'should' becomes a 'must'. When suddenly the thing that you said should happen, has to happen.

For many guys, it looks like this:

"I knew I needed to lose some weight, but it wasn't until my doctor told me I was at risk of dying young that I knew I had to do something about it."

It's when you can no longer tolerate something, that your life will change.

If you move through a series of doors and each door locks behind you, you have no choice but to keep moving forward. It's amazing how motivated you become to keep moving forward when you have no choice to turn back.
