Have You Tried These 7 Summer Snacks?

Did you know that you get to 2 or 3 snacks a day when you're on The Man Shake?  How good is that! But did you also know that snacking is key to reaching your weight loss goals and maintaining your weight?

A problem you can strike is when you snack on the same thing day in and day out it can get boring, and when you get bored, you can start to wander and end up cheating on your diet and eating naughty treats. 

Since variety is the spice of life, we have prepared 7 New Summer Snacks that'll spice things up and get you looking forward to your morning and afternoon tea again. 

Avocado Tomato Crackers
Ingredients - 4 Vita-
weat crackers, 1/3 avocado sliced, medium tomato sliced, salt, pepper.
Method - Layer Vita-
weat crackers with avocado and tomato slices, sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.

Spiced Nuts
Ingredients - Your choice of raw nuts - peanuts, almonds and cashews, with chilli powder, black pepper and cayenne to taste.
Method - Toss raw nuts together with chilli powder, black pepper, and a pinch of cayenne. Roast in an oven at 200° deg for about 10 minutes or until golden.
Tip - make these in bulk for snacks for the week, 30grams per serve.


Choc Berry Man Bar
Nothing says summer like berries and nothing is fresher than the new Choc Berry Man Bar! 
Made from real berries and chunky chocolate, this bar is not only packed full of protein it tastes excellent and is the most convenient snack going. 


Apple Slices & Peanut Butter
Ingredients/ Method - Spread about 2 teaspoons of peanut butter across a medium apple sliced and cored.
Tip - Spice these up with a small sprinkle of cinnamon on top.


Sesame Edamame
Ingredients - Frozen edamame beans, sesame oil, red pepper flakes and rock salt.
Method - Boil frozen edamame until tender, drain and toss with a light coating of sesame oil, red pepper flakes, and rock salt.
50grams of Edamame per serve.


Honeyed Oats  
Ingredients - A packet of unflavored Uncle Tobys Quick Oats, a small handful of walnuts or pistachio, half a banana sliced, a teaspoon of honey.
Method - Take one packet of Quick Oats and prepare as directed. Mix nuts and honey.
Tip - Add extra punch and sprinkle some Chia seeds on top.


Simple Quiche Cups
Ingredients - 5 eggs, a handful of fresh spinach rough chopped, button mushrooms sliced and sauteed, salt & pepper. Light cheese optional.
Method - Whisk eggs in a bowl, then lightly mix in spinach, mushrooms, and add cheese if desired. Evenly divide mixture into 12 using a non-stick muffin tray. Bake for about 20 minutes, at 190 deg or until quiches are cooked through.
2 Quiches per serve
Tip - To check Quiches are cooked by inserting a toothpick into the centre, and no liquid comes out.
