It's easy to go on a 'diet' these days as there are so many different fad diets out there and you never know until you try, which one is actually going to work. But for many of us blokes, most of the time we tend to carry our weight around the mid section making it slightly harder to lose those extra kilos.

Most of the time the thought of eating less or hardly eating at all is going to help you lose weight, well think again!

Here are 4 nutrition mistakes that you might be making and what choices to make instead to help you lose the beer gut and still enjoy a healthy, sustainable lifestyle -

1. YOU AREN'T EATING ENOUGH - eating less isn't going to help you lose weight, rather than it will actually make you gain weight and not build muscle. The key to maintaining a healthy lifestyle is to ensure you are eating 6 healthy meals a day and fueling your body with PROTEIN! Research has shown that a higher protein diet will help build muscle and lose fat faster. So grab your Man Shake today!

2. YOU'RE EATING TOO LATE - If you have a busy schedule and lack time most days of a morning and night, it is most likely that you are going to binge eat your way to staying full and consume the wrong foods at the wrong time of day. E.g hardly eating through the day then binge eating come dinner time. As I always say, stick with the saying, "Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a Prince and dinner like a Pauper!" Kick starting your day with a high protein low sugar breakfast like scrambled eggs or our Man Shake will help fuel your body and keep you in line for the rest of the day.

3. YOU'RE GOING CARB FREE - cutting back on carbs isn't a bad thing but going carb free might be... Stearing clear from the bad carbs like white bread, white rice and white pasta is good for your body. BUT cutting cabrs altogether won't help you lose weight. Stick to brown bread, brown rice/pasta and all things whole grain in moderation. This won't make your gut expand and won't leave you feeling tired and sluggish.

4. YOU THINK PALEO/GLUTEN FREE IS A DIET - Don't be fooled by the fad diets out there on the market. If you are gluten intolerant, then by all means steer clear from it. BUT doing these extreme diets just because won't be better for you on the long run. Swap the gluten free higher processed foods for fresh whole foods instead. It;s healthier and will keep your weight loss maintainable.
