10 Fun Food Facts

Who doesn't love a good useless fact? They are just so handy in just about all aspects of life. For instance, they make for a great conversation starter at the dinner table when the conversation is slow. With a slight cough, you clear your throat open up with "did you know...?" everyone instantly stops what they are doing and hangs onto your every word.

Or how good are they for Pub Trivia?  No one knows the answer and BOOM, you pull out the answer, from what seems like nowhere winning the bar tab and the hearts and admiration of your teammates.

Carrots do not improve your night vision, but if you eat too many, your skin can turn orange from the beta-carotene content of them. 

Kiwi Fruit
Eating Kiwi Fruit aids in your body ability to absorb protein. Next time you're in the kitchen make it a Super Steak Salad by adding some Kiwi slices.

Honey Is Bee Vomit 
You could perceive Honey to be bee vomit, this is how. The Forager bees drink nectar from flowers and then when they bring the nectar back to the colony, it regurgitates it to “processor” bee which then regurgitates or Vomits it on the hive. 

The process of making Gelatin is boiling skin, cartilage and bones from animals such as pigs, cows, and chickens.

Carrots weren't always orange; they used to be purple and yellow. They changed the colour because orange was a more popular colour in the 1500's.

Did you notice that lemons float? They float because they have a similar density to water.

Strawberries are not berries because berries technically only have seeds on the inside and strawberry seeds are on the outside. But did you know that watermelon, pumpkins, bananas, and avocados are!

White Chocolate
White chocolate isn’t chocolate because it doesn’t contain the dark chocolate cacao solids.
